Hi! We’re Adam and Caron — parents, business owners, and now home educators too.

After selling our family business, we made a big decision: to home educate our daughter and build a new chapter rooted in purpose, balance, and community. We’ve always loved Devon, and knew we wanted to create something meaningful right here, close to home.

That’s when You Can Sit With Us began to take shape — not as a school or childcare setting, but as a co-learning space for home-educated children. A calm, friendly environment where children can bring their own learning, follow their own pace, and be part of something quietly empowering.

We realised there was a little gap in the local landscape — a place where children can focus and feel included, and where parents and carers get the breathing room they need. Because let’s be honest: home education is a huge commitment. And it’s okay to need a few hours to yourself. Maybe to run errands, work from home, take a Zoom meeting, or simply sit with a cup of tea in peace.

Or maybe — like us — you’d simply love for your child to spend time with other home-educated children, in a space where independence, kindness, and learning go hand in hand.

And the name? You Can Sit With Us is a little nod to the early 2000s film Mean Girls. In the film, “You can’t sit with us” is famously used to exclude others. We wanted to flip that completely. Our name is a reminder that everyone is welcome here — no cliques, no pressure, no judgment. Just a kind, inclusive environment where your child can feel safe, seen, and supported.
